2001 VW 1.8t Golf spark plugs. They need to be replaced. Which ones should I buy?
I'm going to replace the spark plugs on my 2001 VW Golf. It has a 1.8t engine and its a manual.
Are there spark plugs that I could purchase that would be an upgrade to the stock spark plugs?
I was hoping for a little more power or a little more mileage.
Any suggestions?
FYI... I don't know anything about cars. Nothing! So talk to me like I'm a car fool. Because, I am.

Go to autozone and ask for the cheapest NGK copper plugs they have. Your not going to get more power or better fuel mileage, maybe if your old plugs are really that worn down, but you'll just be regaining what you already had. All the platinum, iridium junk is no better than the simple copper.

For German cars, get BOSCHE sparkplugs.
When you go to an autoparts store like autozone or pepboys or advanced auto parts, there is a book near to the spark plugs.
In the book, go to the page where it says 2001 VW GTI and look under the 1.8T engine. It will tell you the type of sparkplugs to get.
Or ask the cashier. He can probably find it for you much faster.
Make sure to get BOSCHE.
NGK are generally for Japanese cars.
Champion are the cheapest and worst plugs out there. It is an American brand.
