Can you overdose on Loratadine?

And how much would it take? I'm just having a debate with a friend and we want a definite answer.

You can overdose on anything. Even water.

Toxicity is really based on the individual. There are equations that take averages, but since it's unethical to test the toxicity of drugs on humans, we can only infer how much is toxic based on mice/rat studies.

Loratadine has an LD50 value of 4 g/kg of body weight. But *that is only in mice*. In other words, to kill 50% of mice test subjects, they would be given 4g of loratadine per kg of body weight.

In other words, it's possible to overdose on loratadine, but you'd need to take a lot.
