    5/3 * k/5 = 3/k but you're adding, not multiplying

    5/3 + k/5 = (5/5)(5/3) + (3/3)(k/5) = 25/15 + 3k/15 = (25 + 3k)/15

    3s/4 + 5/6 = (3/3)3s/4 + (2/2)5/6 = 9s/12 + 10/12 = (9s + 10)/12

    2f/5 + g/6 = (6/6)2f/5 + (5/5)g/6 = 12f/30 + 5g/30 = (12f + 5g)/30

    1/a + b/2 = (2/2)1/a + (a/a)b/2 = 2/(2a) + ab/(2a) = (2 + ab)/(2a)

    1/x + 2/(xy) = (y/y)1/x + 2/(xy) = (y + 2)/(xy)

    5/3 + k/5

nope the 5's do not cancel

with these fractions the aim is to get the bottom of both fractions the same

    5/3 + k/5 = (5*5 + k*3) / 15 = (25+3k)/15

    3s/4 + 5/6

    (3s*6 + 5*4)/ 24 = (18s +20)/24

Hope this helps u do the rest

    = 5/3 + k/5

    = (5[5] + 3k)/(3[5])

    = (25 + 3k)/15

    Answer: (3k + 25)/15

    -----------

    = 3s/4 + 5/6

    = (3[3s] + 2[5])/12

    = (9s + 10)/12

    Answer: (9s + 10)/12

    -----------

    = 2f/5 + g/6

    = (6[2f] + 5g)/30

    = (12f + 5g)/30

    Answer: (12f + 5g)/30

    -----------

    = 1/a + b/2

    = (2b + a)/2ab

    Answer: (2b + a)/2ab

    -----------

    = 1/x + 2/xy

    = (y + 2)/xy

    Answer: (y + 2)/xy

5's cannot be cancelled because its addition. Use 5 as your LCD (Least Common Denominator) and then follow the process of adding fractions. For the rest of the problems, just find the LCD before proceeding to the process.
