Looking for my second car. Need some expert tips for what to pick?

Alright, so here's the problem.

I'm only 19 and looking to get a car thats financed.

Between the car payment and insurance, my budget is $550.

I know to some people that could seem like a lot, but the average quotes I've been getting for insurance are around $300-400 a month.

Most likely I'm going to have to get something used, I like Mazdas the best of all cars I've seen but the insurance is jacked up cause they're all considered sport.

So my question to you is....

What cars would you recommend me getting being in this dilemma?

Or if you've heard of any insurance companies that specialize in teens or financed cars, that'd be awesome.

btw- I live in florida and have a clean record.

Ok, I'll give you my opinion, but you might not like it.

At 19, the insurance company thinks you are a risk, shop around (if you want), but it might not change.

Make sure you have something more than the state minimums on Property, Liability and Bodily Injury (it may only be $10 more per month), but don't get any coverage for your car (that will make it REALLY expensive.).

Talk to your insurance agent. What car would be the cheapest? If you go for a Wagon (I know, totally boring), you will likely get the lowest insurance. If you could find a Taurus Wagon, or an Outback, you might be in great shape. There are cheaper cars out there.

You could get a Taurus wagon for not much money (maybe even cash), and they are easy to fix.

    Sometimes cheaper is more boring.
