If I lived in Los Angeles and there was a terrible riot that collapsed society then where would one flee to?

If I were in this situation, I'd flee straight to a wooded mountain area...Appalachia, most likely. I think it would be pretty safe there because most people these days don't know how to live off the land, to hunt and gather, build shelters and fires, that kind of thing. In the mountains there would be plenty of game, plenty of vegetation and plenty of water.

Well, maybe, but Orange County is soooooo boring. Come on down to San Diego, a much better party town, and besides, with our city finances we've already got plenty of experience surviving an apocalypse.

Yes indeed, the OC is boring, boring. Even bank robbers are not allowed to run away from their deed. All must walk in an orderly fashion. Police must, in a low voice say, Stop or I will say bad things about you.
