How to fix a maxell 2gb USB jump drive?

I have a Dell computer with Windows 7 on it. I was using the USB Drive as a Ready boost drive when my computer hibernated. When I woke it up, it said there wasn't the drive on there. I then took the drive out and put it back in. Once in, it asked me to format it which then left me having only 1 mb of space to use. How can I fix/reset it back to 2 gb?

Update:

It says it has only 1 MB of space and that is it. The disk management did not work

yes I got the same problem last time.

plug the USB in you PC and Put window XP cd in the DVD drive the boot from cd

after some time it all the drive atached in your PC format from there and press f3 twice as instructed from the option and your PC will restart .

I have solved my problem this way

  • Re-format the thumb drive and format it to FAT32 with Auto Allocation basically just right click the drive hit format do a quick format and it should work and get rid of the Ready Boost although you may wanna set it to Do Not use this drive as a ready boost

Run the Disk Management in Windows 7 and recreate the partition on your flash drive.
