should I change my motorcycle clutch plates?
Greetings,
I recently bought a used bike (1996 yamaha seca II) and I find it much harder to accelerate from a stop than the bike I rode before (old Honda Rebel 450). my problem is that it seems like the engine will only engage the transmission once my lever is most of the way out, giving me a short distance to feather the clutch out.
this makes it hard to accelerate from a stop without stalling (I have to rev it way up).
so, would a new clutch kit significantly improve this, or should I just get used to it?

Try an adjustment first.
The way to know when your clutch is failing is if it slips under hard acceleration.

as a rider i do might desire to question using style.. drag motorcycles kill a snatch in one run .. little ones on the line frequently take an entire summer season to kill a snatch ..My genuine question is ...is the comparable guy installation the snatch each and every time?? if so there are some issues you may desire to do while installation a snatch to confirm it is going to final a classic quantity of time.. yet i think of i could look at the way it is put in previously i gave up on it .. ZX1400 do no longer struggle via clutches that rapid and that's ridden agressive as hell.. On my harley i do no longer even verify the adjustment yet approximately each and every 10000 miles so confident i think of you have a situation right here ..the two warped steel plates or unsuitable adjustment while it is put in or per threat some susceptible springs yet there must be something incorrect and that i think of the mechanic is what's incorrect .....
