  • where to get self-locking footlocker?

I'm looking for a trunk or footlocker to put outside my house for the UPS/FEDEX/USPS to drop packages in. I want something with a built-in lock so they only have to drop the package in and close it. anyone know where I could get one? there are some on walmart's site and amazon, but it looks like they need a padlock (I don't want the UPS guy fiddling with closing a padlock).

I don't need much, just something I can chain up to deter someone from walking off with the package. heck, I would consider strong plastic. my neighborhood isn't bad, but you never know.

I don't need it to be big, 30in wide should be all that is necessary. I mostly get a bunch of small packages.

  • multiple home owners?

is there a way to determine percent ownership based on what percent of the mortgage each party pays? so, lets say you have three owners but one of the owners makes more money and wants to pay the mortgage off faster, but wants the ownership stake to reflect the extra payments. how would one set that up

  • tips for dating a Pakistani girl?

hello. I am a Caucasian american and I have recently met a girl who, I believe, is Pakistani. does anyone have tips for dating a girl from this culture?

we had one date. she had a drink, said she liked steak, and did not wear a head scarf; so I assume she isn't super devout. however, I would like to avoid offending her or making any cultural missteps, so any help would be appreciated. I don't think she eats pork (since she said she eats cheese pizza)

also, her parents are fairly traditional (and don't speak very fluent english), so her upbringing was probably fairly traditional.

  • should I change my motorcycle clutch plates?

    Greetings,

I recently bought a used bike (1996 yamaha seca II) and I find it much harder to accelerate from a stop than the bike I rode before (old Honda Rebel 450). my problem is that it seems like the engine will only engage the transmission once my lever is most of the way out, giving me a short distance to feather the clutch out.

this makes it hard to accelerate from a stop without stalling (I have to rev it way up).

so, would a new clutch kit significantly improve this, or should I just get used to it?

  • what is Ventura, Ca like?

I have a job prospect in Port Hueneme, CA. can anyone tell me what the area is like?

    I am mid/late 20s, Engineer, male, single.

I like art, music, bars, theatre, ect.

is there any city feel there? I like being able to walk to nightlife. I dislike suburbia.

how about the ratio of men to women? I know that areas near military bases can sometimes be a sausage fest.

what is the feel of the area? are people mostly hipsters like portland? surfers like so-cal? retired people like phoenix?

would a young person fine the area fun? or would it be more like one of those places where everyone is married and trying to keep up with the Jones'? inform me!

    Thanks

  • using prepaid debit card for online purchase?

    greetings,

I am thinking of buying something from a website that I don't fully trust. unfortunately, they are the only site that sells what I want.

I was wondering if using a prepaid debit card would be a good idea, so that I don't have to post my credit card number to the site. that way, I may lose the $30 from the prepaid card if it's a scam, but at least my credit card number wont be floating around the net.

what do you think? if an online retailer accepts Visa, would they also take a Visa prepaid card?

  • best area to live on long island?

I am talking to a company about a position on Long Island (near Commack). what are the best places to live? I don't want more than 45min commute.

I am white, late 20s, single, and an engineer. I really like places where you can walk to nightlife. it does not have to be spectacular nightlife, but something. I absolutely hate suburbs. I want to live somewhere with a city feel. basically, wherever you find hipsters is probably where I want to live (though, i am not a hipster myself). I like art, coffee shops, plays, live music, ect.

I will be making an engineer salary, so I can afford a decent amount of rent. also, I don't mind sketchy areas if they are close to nightlife (I feel perfectly comfortable in Baltimore and Detroit)

also, closer to Manhattan is always good.

    Thanks

  • Michigan supreme court rules that you can videotape police?

does anyone know how to find the actual court decision? I know it was 6-1, I think it happened in march, but I can't find the actual case number or anything official. all I can find is news articles about the decision.

here is an article that might be helpful:

In a 6-1 Michigan Supreme Court ruling, rapper Dr. Dre won over a police officer’s right to privacy while “on the job” and engaged in law enforcement duties. The suit was filed by former police official, Gary Brown, now a Detroit City Councilman, who, with other Detroit police officers, was videotaped while attempting to close an Eminem concert should they show a sexually explicit video. Subsequently, the video of the police officers was included in a DVD produced about the tour. Brown’s lawsuit was dismissed on the basis that there is no right to privacy for police while performing their duties. This ruling makes it legal in the state of Michigan to video record the police while they perform their duties and will be used in other court cases arising in other states where such action is becoming illegal. There have been numerous incidents where cell phone users and persons with video cameras have recorded acts of police misconduct, resulting in the bystander witness who recorded such acts being arrested and the cell phone or video equipment confiscated. Massachusetts is one such state which we believe has proposed legislation to make it illegal to videotape police officers in the performance of their duties. Illinois passed such legislation. Civilian videos of police officers have revealed misconduct, abuse and filing of false reports throughout the U.S. The case also has First Amendment implications as well.

  • how to reinstall windows 7 on SSD?

I just bought a new laptop and I want to install a SSD (solid state drive) but I am not sure how to reinstall windows 7 on the new drive. I have two options within the "backup and restore" area of the control panel. I can either create a system rescue cd or I can create a backup image of the OS. the rescue CD ends up being a couple hundred megabytes. I don't think this will be able to install the OS, since windows 7 must be much larger than a couple hundred meg. the second option takes 37GB.

so, what is the easiest way for me to reinstall my OS on the new drive?

I am trying to find some athletic pants for outdoor sports in the winter, but I wear a 38" inseam and a 36 waist (in regular pants). I can't find any pants that list their length. all I can find is XL XXL XXXXXL, or waist measurements (32,34,36).

does anyone know where, online or in-store, that I could find pants that list length?

  • could I rent to just college students?

I was thinking of buying a rental property in a "low-rent" neighborhood near a college. college students regularly rent places there. is it legal to exclude all non-college students from being able to rent? or does equal-opportunity mean that you can't evaluate someone based on a factor like that? (basically, renting to only people who you know are upstanding citizens, but just can't afford a nice place. e.g. graduate students)
