using prepaid debit card for online purchase?
greetings,
I am thinking of buying something from a website that I don't fully trust. unfortunately, they are the only site that sells what I want.
I was wondering if using a prepaid debit card would be a good idea, so that I don't have to post my credit card number to the site. that way, I may lose the $30 from the prepaid card if it's a scam, but at least my credit card number wont be floating around the net.
what do you think? if an online retailer accepts Visa, would they also take a Visa prepaid card?
how do you buy things online? what do you put for billing address and such? or issuing bank?

Yes they would take a prepaid Visa card, yes it is safe since the most you could lose is whatever was on the card. Not being attached to any bank accounts, this isolates you rather nicely.

i'm pretty sure pre-paid visa cards are generally the same with regular visa credit cards so yeah i think you'd be able to do it with no problem

Somtimes what I like to do is do a google search on the website and see what comes up... :)
