Are you talking about a webhoster? Where you have stored the data of your website? They (new owner) will have to keep it and fulfill the contract that you signed with the previous owner.

If you are referring to your Emails, and stuff from yahoo, then I don't know but I doubt that yahoo will cease to exist anytime soon.

If you are referring to your personal files on your computer, then you're safe. No matter who'd take over yahoo.

Nothing. If yahoo was to sell their company then it is because another company will simply use it as their own and brand it as their own. Unless yahoo was losing a ton of money then it wouldn't be dismantled as a whole.

Secondly, I am not sure what sort of files you could possibly have on the internet that can't be backed up. You can save emails as PDF's if using a web page to PDF converter. You can find those for firefox pretty easily through the firefox add on pages. Same idea applies to videos as well. Any other sort of file can simply be downloaded and backed up on your computer of portable HDD/flash drive.

So really there isn't anything on the internet that can't be backed up by your own personal devices.

Wait... wtf? files? internet service provider? yahoo? ok you just named like 3 different things that don't even really have to do with each other in that kind of way...

    1. a file is just a file on computer its there until you delete it.

    2. Internet service provider? Yahoo is NOT a Internet service provider... its a E-mail/search engine website, Internet service provider is a company who allows you to access the internet by paying every month.

    3. Oh wait... yahoo was supposed to be #3 oh well... now you know...

If your internet service provider were to sell out, then you would just switch with it unless they take it down, then you'll need to get a one.

again same thing with Yahoo, you should switch over unless the next buyer decides to shut it down...

I highly doubt Yahoo is gonna sell out -____- I personally use it and I've heard no word of it... If anyone should sell out its gotta be MSN... their a lot crappier... But for right now I think its safe.

Nothing. It stays on the servers or gets migrated to another server.

However, someone else will have control over it besides Yahoo or you.
