I was always told yet now wonder if it holds true or not?

A MOH winner is to be saluted by officer first. If an enlisted comes upon an officer the enlisted saluted first and the officer returns it. Now with the MOH winner i was told the officer goes first. How does that work then if the President comes around? Who goes first the MOH or the President?

By rule Presidents don't salute. (Civilians don't salute.)

But Presidents have a habit of doing as they please, and Ronald Reagan started the habit of saluting his honor guards and it has stuck ever since.

A wise military member would render the salute to the office the his/her Commander in Chief without waiting to see if the POTUS salutes. JMHO

Common Sense. Obviously the President is the Commander-in-Chief, no one outranks him ever.

A Medal of Honor winner would out of integrity, honor, and duty salute the President of the US.
