ZOMBIE ARMAGEDDON PREPARATION QUESTION : Defending against a swarm?

Depends on what type of Zombies "infected" we're dealing with. The slow ones are easy. The fast runners... Oh man, you need to avoid them like the plague.

It's generally over once you run into a swarm, unless you have a machine gun or some other fully automatic weapon with a ton of ammo.

The best thing to do it make it your top priority to avoid swarms.

Best thing to do is once you encounter a swarm. Immediately get out of their as fast and quietly as possible. Chances are if you just take the wrong turn down a street or something, most aren't going to notice you if you're quiet. If you go shooting or making loud noises they're all going to chase you.

It's all about stealth.

The best weapon you can have is a sword "or baseball bat or other long metal object if you can't get a sword" for up close and personal encounters.

A medium sized combat knife, for stealth kills.

A crossbow, for ranged kills "not to mention you can just retrieve the bolt and use it again as long as it's not bent."

Last but not least, a semi auto small reliable gun of some sort. Not to use it for regular zombie killing, but only for those extreme emergencies when you need a lot of zombies dead and quick. Shooting is going to make noise, so be prepared to run.

Also, last but not least, save one bullet. Keep it in your pocket or somewhere close but easily reachable. Just in case you're all out of options... You know what I mean by that.

Lot's of people want to go zombie killing, so they bring their shotguns and full auto weapons. Yeah, they get a lot of kills, and shoot a lot of zombies, but they're going to run out of ammo and all that noise just attracted a bigger swarm than they just killed. They end up being zombie food.

The ones out of the picture not fighting are the ones who are least likely to die.

Edit: Oh yeah, a boat... That's a decent idea. As long as you can keep enough food and water aboard then that's a good option. I don't think most zombies are good swimmers.

The reason they don't eat each other is because the infection is trying to spread itself. It can't do that by eating other zombies. The infections main goal is to simply spread itself through bites. This is caused by the infections ability to access the part of the brain that controls food cravings. It sets the desired food as uninfected humans so the zombie go bite other people and then they become zombies and repeat the process.

Kind of like rabies in animals, rabid animals don't attack other rabid animals "I think they do sometimes but not as much as uninfected animals."

I know of no zombies who commandeer boats. I'd take over a good sized ship with generators to store food and hot showers and all the goodies I could load on board. Hydroponics to grow fresh food..etc etc. Of course Zodiacs to make forays near shore, make noise and shoot hundreds of zombies daily. Eventually they will all be gone, via one way or the other...I and family and friends can bide our time offshore. :)

Oh and a question for zombie fans.....why in the heck don't they eat each other, since they are easier to catch..so darn slow..or is it the warm blood they yearn for? (shows how much I know lol)

Find another non-zombie and shoot them in the leg. You then run away

run in circles and shoot the faster ones... make crawlers to gather as much money as possible and prepare for the next wave.

There is no such thing as zombi armageddon. You are perfectly safe.
