Is this a decent straightener?
Hey, I'm a guy with frizzy hair and I want to straighten my hair. I'm willing to spend like $40 to $70 for a solid straightener. I know it's not a huge investment, but my hair is not that long anyways and I'm not looking for quality things like shine - I just want it to work and for it to work for a while. Not having to do it everyday would be nice. Do you think this deal below would get the job done? Or is too cheap?

GHD is best, i was hesitant in buying one, but i'm glad i did. when it comes to straighteners it really shouldn't be a matter of price, they are VERY damaging and if you get one (weather cheap or expensive) it should be about how safe it is to use on your hair type, otherwise you will damage your hair even more than it sounds. go to a store and choose a straightener after speaking to a sales assistant. in my experience, Remington is not a good brand of straighter.
btw, GHD can keep your hair fairly straight for two days, but NO straighter can keep it dead straight for more then a day.

Remington is a good brand. If you did want to invest a bit more for a very high quality flat iron, I would def look into getting a Paul Mitchell. But overall, Remington and Paul Mitchell are the two best, in my personal opinion. Don't bother investing in a Chi. They tend to break.
But no matter what brand of flat iron you get, YOU SHOULD ALWAYS USE HEAT PROTECTANT

this stuff is the best, once again my personal opinion.
NEVER EVER use wet 2 dry flat irons. They are so terrible for your hair. And try to get one with titanium ceramic plates :)

I recommend a better hair straightener, it's the Karmin G3 Salon Pro, it heats up to 450f with temperature control, dual voltage, tourmaline ceramic plates with rounded edges which makes it great for also curling your hair. Also has a 3 year warranty. You can buy from http://myhairstylingtools.com/ or if you are in Canada you can buy at http://www.rylees.ca/ . Or check out the reviews at http://flatironsreviews.com/ . It works pretty good with any type of hair, I have one and it leaves my hair soft, shiny, frizz less and very straight. I hope this helps.

There is a better hair straightener I recommend that leaves the hair soft, shiny and super straight, it's the Karmin G3 Salon Pro with ceramic tourmaline plates to avoid damages, it heats up really quick and it works very good because it only takes me a very short amount of time to get my hair completely straight.
Plus I have no problems with frizz.I bought it at safrons http://www.safrons.com/karmin-g3-salon-pro-profess... Good luck!

I don't think CHI straighteners break that easily, I had mine for 6 years and used it a lot! All my friends use CHI also, and everybody is happy. Yes, it's not so cheap (for a reason), but it's the best. You can get it in Target for about $100+tax.

If you could afford a little more, get a chi. They work great! But they are like $100+
