Been waiting for my debit card to come, still hasn't come?
I just applied for a debit card around 2 months ago so I can buy stuff online and use Paypal. This was in a 'Tertiary Studies' expo and I'm still waiting for it to "materialise" in my mail box. I applied to the Commonwealth bank and they asked for proof of identification, which I obliged by giving them a copy of my birth certificate over email. That was 2 - 3weeks ago.
How do I write an email that asks them to make the whole process quicker or is this how the whole thing usually works?
I'm 17 btw.

A couple of point here. I think that you have to be an adult e.g. 18 years to get a debit card in Australia. You have to produce identification. Yes your birth certificate would be one. They also like to have your TFN (Tax File Number) when you set up a new account. As you are only 17 years an may not have worked, you may not have a TFN.
You should receive a card within a week to ten days from a financial institution once you have applied for it and passed all the requirements. Banks in Australia do not like to be emailed. You will have to go to your local branch of the Commonwealth Bank in person.
Take your birth certificate if you have one plus evidence of where you live like electricity and phone bills if you live away from home and council water rates if you pay them where you live. A responsible adult will have to go guarantor for you if you live away from home. This is often a parent of close relative. They witness you establishing the account. If you have established the account electronically, it may have been rejected because you are a minor. I
f you are living with your parents, a parent or guardian will have to go guarantor for you as you are under 18 years. Another ID to use is your drivers license and/or a passport if you have either. You should take any school ID that you have with a photo on it too, even if it isn't acceptable. Take a Medicare Card and any Social Security Card.
Discuss the matter with the bank. Best of luck.
Cheers!!!
