Me and my brother use the wifi a lot in our house and we're to have a LAN party on his birthday with his friends at home in a few weeks time. My dad will also be using the internet during that time to check emails and usual browsing.

We will have an estimated amount of 8 people on the network, including me and my brother.

Will our party have an affect on the internet speed while my dad is just doing his browsing?

And if it's any help, the modem is connected to my dad's computer.

I'm applying for a part-time/casual job at a local Officeworks and I don't understand one of the questions.

"Do you have work experience in:

[] Technology

[] Print & Copy"

What do they mean? I dabble in computer hardware and software so I consider myself an amateur and know how to use a printer/photocopier.

Are they asking whether I have worked with technology and print & copy or whether I just know these things?

I just applied for a debit card around 2 months ago so I can buy stuff online and use Paypal. This was in a 'Tertiary Studies' expo and I'm still waiting for it to "materialise" in my mail box. I applied to the Commonwealth bank and they asked for proof of identification, which I obliged by giving them a copy of my birth certificate over email. That was 2 - 3weeks ago.

How do I write an email that asks them to make the whole process quicker or is this how the whole thing usually works?

I'm doing an essay on 'Film Noir' for my Film and TV studies and I want to compare/contrast the lighting and camera techniques from one film and another. What would you say is a good 'Neo-Noir' that can be compared with "Double Indemnity"? My teacher said "ChinaTown" (Polanski) but I'm not too sold on that film.

I only saw parts of it though but this is what I could remember.

There are 5 (or 6) guys holed up in a building in the middle of a desert nearly empty on ammo but have water. On the other side are Germans trying to kill them because of a "supposed" watering hole in the building that the guys are in. Towards the end only 2 live and capture a tank, guns and prisoners while getting found by friendly soldiers in a jeep.

I just found out about the expected beta versions about Firefox. WTF?

I was okay with Firefox 4 coming out, even though I was used to version 3.6x now I just found out that Mozilla is developing new versions of the Firefox browser. I mean really?! Firefox 4 only got 1 major update, 1! Now 5 has come out not too long ago and three new versions are expected to come out within this year and early next year.

Are Mozilla expecting to challenge IE and Chrome because of the amount of stable releases that they have? IE9/Chrome12/Firefox??

People that I know seem to have this understanding that if the version has a higher number then it's better than a lower number (FF5 VS IE9 VS Chrome12). Is this what Mozilla is getting at?

I just read somewhere that religion wasn't taken so seriously in Ancient Greece, that they just treated religion as a form of social gathering of sorts.

Would you agree with that?

From what I remember, religion was only for show and would (I think) justify Socrates' death because he did not abide so much to the gods.

"Did he even know about Lady Macbeth going mental prior to her suicide?"

Act 5 Scene 5 is really doing my head in at the moment.

Macbeth learns of his wife's suicide just before he is to do battle for Dunsinane and does a monologue about her (lines 17 - 28).

I have no recollection of Lady Macbeth going crazy or showing signs of it prior to Act V at all. Because my understanding is that in Act V. Sc. 5, 17 - 28, Macbeth seems to be all 'meh, she was bound to die anyway, but I got a fight to settle outside.' Did he even know that she was going to kill herself? :/

I just installed and started playing Half-Life 2 and I get past the part where I get to the trains while running away from the CPs and my game started lagging from there! It lagged for like every 1fps or something (lol), I hated those parts so much. Apparently, my video settings on Half-Life 2 are almost all on the high settings. Even when I put the video settings on low it still lags. I have to press the [ESC] button to pause and sort of refresh the game to lessen the lag and help it keep up or whatever.

From what I've heard I can install Win7 but I'm fine with XP but I think that its the RAM that I need to upgrade (or the processor, I dunno).

I also have a 157GB internal HDD with 2 partitions and my main partition has all the program files and stuff like: AVs, Tuneup Utilities, Paint.NET, pics, music, vids, etc and has only ~10GB of space left. Where as the other has all of my games which has gone more than half its space. Maybe its all the programs that may be causing the lag.

I made my first-ever resume, which my friend took and said that she can help me write a cover letter. Which she did and said that she would look around to find any job that would fit my resume. Funnily enough she did.

So she said she hooked me up a spot in a VideoEzy store around Brisbane which all I have to do now is go in and ask; and it is casual. I haven't asked yet because I've never had the opportunities to get jobs, nor have I ever had one because of my parents (I'm 17). So no job experience ever on my part. I heard that employees at Maccas get good pay but I doubt it. I have no idea about supermarkets though or how they do in terms of pay.

The thing that bother's me is that the position is casual and pays 12~/hr as a cashier. So me, without any prior job experience, it sounds too good to be true. Is it? I mean, it's casual. Really? I've heard that if you're casual, managers can lessen your hours if need be because you don't have a fixed schedule like part-time and that. Plus my friend said that I can't get the part-time one because their for 18+ only in that store.

I'm doing a presentation on Robert Frost's "The Road Not Taken" for year 12 English. The thing is that I can't fully distinguish between the 'meaning' of a poem and an 'interpretation' of one. I have often confused myself between the two. Can anyone help me out on this?

Not like "help-help", I mean like could any of you show/give examples of how a poem's meaning is different to its interpretation.

I'm writing this for my year 12 essay on 'Alexander the Great and his exploits'.

"Alexander is called "the Great" for a reason, mainly for his military conquests. But there are his other exploits that would probably make him lose his title. The siege of Tyre, the killings of some of his closest friends and his ego. However many argue that it was all in the past, but why give the title of "the Great" to a man if it was all in the past?"

Is it good/bad/needs work?

I just realised this "feeling" of mine when I get off the computer, TV and internet among others. I know that this feeling in not unique to me although I haven't found anything close to it on the internet but here goes.

Whenever I get caught up in to one of the three things I mentioned above for like hours I lose sense of time. But that's not it, the feeling happens after. After I am done with whatever I was doing, I get the feeling that I was not in my body the whole time afterwards.

Like when I watch movies on the TV and I finish then "something" gets reeled back into my body sort of. As if I was just smacked right back into my body and the present reality itself. Then same goes when I finish using the internet/computer.

Anyone have this "feeling" before?

I need to explain it a bit further on my powerpoint presentation but i cant find a decent meaning. Can you please explain it that even I, a teenager could understand?

I've been looking for different martial arts around the Brisbane area that I could use for my benefit but never really seemed to find it.

I know there's Jujitsu, BJJ, Muay-Thai, etcetera but I like Ninjutsu for its values and how it goes about in its way. Not just for self defence.

My friends tell me that never go for a school that brags about itself, any secret techniques, appeared on TV, blah blah. I've checked out others(I mean, a lot more others) and its kinda confusing. I just want other people's opinions on it.

I know that Ninjutsu has been getting some bad reps over the years but it seems like my kinda art.

A long time ago it used to burn files onto blank dvd's but just today it wouldn't let me burn anything on my discs. When I put in a blank disk its name changes from DVD-RAM to CD-Drive and the discs show up without any memory just zero bytes.

- I've deleted some of the parts in the registry (MY COMPUTER\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Class\{4D36E965-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318})

- I'm afraid of uninstalling the drive 'cause I'm still 15 and don't know zip about dealing with this.
