What is a good probiotic to take with Flagyl?
I know it is an antibiotic so it can actually give you another infection. What else should I take along with it so I prevent myself from getting another infection

I'd recommend getting a good probiotic with at least 3-5 strains and at least 4-6 billion viable organisms per dose if not more... you may want to try a higher dose at first to replenish everything right away, too.
With that being said, there are two schools of thought with Probiotics and antibiotics... one says to take the Probiotics while taking the antibiotic (several hours apart) so you don't get the die-off symptoms as badly, the other says to wait until the antibiotic is done and then take the Probiotics. I wouldn't say either is inherently wrong or right, but it's personal preference. With the first one, you can minimize the side effects of the antibiotic, but you also may reduce some of the effect of the antibiotic as some of it will be used up in killing the Probiotics... just how much is unknown. The second may give you some of the side effects of the antibiotics (eg. diarrhea), but it eliminates any concern about lessening the effects of the antibiotic.
The main problem is that not enough research has been done comparing the two schools of thought to say which is really better or if there is a negligible difference between them so you can try whichever one sounds better to you. Good luck and I hope I helped!
