i think somethings wrong.. what does this sound like it could be?
hiiii. im a seventeen year old girl and ive been having some strange things happen with my body over the past couple months. to start, one month ago, i woke up one morning and felt totally out of wack. i noticed something was wrong when i walked out of my room and into a wall and didnt feel it. literally, my enitre body was numb and i could not feel anything. when i focused really hard, i could kind of feel pressure but only like tingles. by the fourth day, i was not only numb and tingly but i was also having anxiety attacks and feeling totally detached?? this is very out of character for me considering i am a very very calm person. this lasted exactly 7 days. the only thing that i found could have been the cause was a spider bite on my leg. however, three days ago i woke up and the same detachment like feeling and numbness through out my entire body was starting again. this month, it only lasted three days, but it concerns my that its a bigger issue than a spider bite... does anyone know what this is?? im going to see a neurologist but i would appreciate any help before hand, thanks so much

I had the exact same issue when I turned 16, verbatim. The spells were very unusual, almost like some crazy drug high. I was always very social, happy and mentally with it. I felt very alone because it was so random and I could relate to no one at that time. I highly recommend seeing the neurologist and making sure they communicate the issue with your general doctor as well. Make sure you write down all your symptoms and be very clear with the neurologists. Most likely they will want you to get an MRI right off the bat. Possibly some blood tests to make sure your Thyroid is ok. If things don't get resolved then find someone who will REALLY listen to you. Do not get discouraged if you don't get better right off the bat, your young so you body will adapt and heal fast. I am very confident that you'll be ok and the neurologists should figure this out. Relax and eat good. Hopefully your tests will come back ok. Godbless.
