How do I remember how to spell words? And remember the definitions... Please help....?
I'm a Freshmen and I'm in English 9 Honors. I have about 20 words that I must remember how to spell, pronounce, and I need to know the definition also. I have tried repetition, and it hasn't done much for me. The spelling test is on Monday, and I'm not joking when I say that I have NEVER heard of 13 of the words... For example: sesquicentennial- 150th Anniversary. Any ideas/ recommendations? Thanks in advance guys, I really appreciate you!

I would say remember a sentence for each one of the words, and put it into a sentence that you like, and can remember easily.
Sesquincetennial is a very easy word to remember because of the word 'quince' in it. Remember that does mean 5 or 15.
'The state building had it's Sesquincetennial anniversary' <-- you can remember it like that!
