Can an author be sued for mentioning the name of a copywritten work in their own work?

In the Canadian, American or EU legal systems:If I am writing a book, would I risk a lawsuit for writing "the book was Darkly Dreaming Dexter. He was completely fascinated by the series..." or something along those lines? If Darkly Dreaming Dexter is a trademark, would I risk lawsuit?

Thank you for your time beforehand.

Nope. Just mentioning a work that's copyrighted is not a violation of copyright.

    The ole DDD.

No, writing that would not be a cause for a lawsuit.

You haven't infringed on the copyright.

As titles are not copyrighted, there would be no copyright infrigment merely for stating the title.

** as long as you put in the book where you got the information in your footnotes...
