Cut the guy some slack. Think about it, he thought his mother was dead, not once, but twice. He thought someone else's baby was his and lost her, then found out his real baby was living with another family in another town. The woman he loved and the mother of his son died in his arms. All this within a relatively short amount of time. And now, there's a remote possibility that the love of his life and the mother of his son is alive and well.
