What brand of new motocross racing pants have knee and hip pads built in?
I am looking for a new pair of motocross racing "un-leathers" and none of the major manufacturers put pads in the knee and hip areas anymore. I have a pair of 1980's Hallman un-leathers that have knee cups and hip pads, but they don't make them anymore. I would even be willing to go back to leather motocross pants to get the protection. I have seen road racing suits with the pads, but I really don't want to wear a road racing suit while riding motocross.

Hello John,
I would google world wide if you have time before you need them. Several makers here 'down under' but sure there must be some there as well. If you have time for 'made to measure' then you tell them what you want including color, at worst if you can't get what you want off the rack then what about buying the pants then a leather worker to sew in hip and knee protectors.

Just about all brands of pants come with hip pads that velcro. They add little in protection. Knee cups went out of style many years ago. They just didn't work since it's hard to know where to put the pocket since everyone had different length legs.
Look at getting independent knee guards. I wear the MSR knee guards and love them. They work similar to a knee brace and add support in many areas of the knee as well as down the shin and on the upper thigh. Thor also make a nice pair. These cost around $80 give or take a few bucks but well worth it.
As far as your hips look at some of the compression shorts with pads made into them. Several manufacturers have them and I know a lot of enduro guys that wear them. I don't so can't offer any suggestions on those.

Know the feeling! But don't have a definitive answer
A few ago I fashioned my own by converting/refitting a pair of old M.Smith knee protectors but cutting slots in the plastic to accommodate some Zelcro straps, had to strap them on before putting on my pants but worth the trouble.
As for the hip protection, I never bought a pair that didn't have them. So the same may be the way to go.
