What is the purpose of your marriage?

To share our lives, good, bad or indifferent we do it together, as a team the way all married couples should.

Strictly speaking? To provide security for the children born to my wife and I. Marriage, as a contract, obligates both of us to the support of our offspring. Without this contract, either one of us could walk with no real obligation. If we had not had children, there would have been no reason to marry as both of us are more than capable of supporting ourselves.

Now that our kids are grown, the marriage contract protects the estate we've built together. I can't kick her out and take it all, nor can she do the same to me.

love, living a moral life, romance, companionship, excitement, living through the good and bad times with a spirit of love and the list goes on :)
