I tried so hard to learn to play the mouth organ/harmonica.
We had a Jews harp - the whole family played around with.
I played the violin - guitar and piano - but not well enough to be entertaining. I did learn the theory well and taught guitar lessons.
I do best at playing the radio.
I simply don't have the motor skills to play anything well.
Oops! I for got. How about the Kazoo - I'm the best at the Kazoo.
You forgot to mention - play the nose. Holding one side of the nose - humming and strumming down on the other side of the nose.
I bet everyone is - now trying to play their nose. LOL
Fun question.

I learned to make music with a comb and a piece of paper at Indianapolis Public School 10 when I was a first grader. I teach every little kid I get to spend any time with, because I hear that's not being done these days. (That old fashioned skill has apparently gone the way of penmanship and times tables.) Some things are too good to lose.
My dad played a harmonica and I loved the sound of it.

My dad could play the Jews harp. Without him being there I tried it and almost cut myself. My eldest son could play his teeth, that was good. Paper and comb I remember playing. A baking biscuit tin with elastic band around it for strings. Didn't work well but it did make a sound or two.

I played the violin when I was at school, when I left school I never touched the violin again. I did however also play the paper and comb and I am still very good at that, bet kids today do not play the paper and comb.

Used to try my Dad's harmonica but he objected to getting it back all dribbly!Tried the paper and comb which was quite good but tickled my mouth.Had a go at the washboard and fingers full of metal thimbles when skiffle was all the rage, that was good fun, with my brother playing "bass" made out of a tea chest, broom handle and some string.Happy days!

I seem to remember the paper and comb and I once had a harmonica, but I wasn't very good at playing it.
