Do falling sea levels indicate we are warming?
http://www.real-science.com/uncategorized/sea-leve...
Will the recent indicated fall in sea levels be seen as evidence the earth is warming? I believe we have generally warmed for hundreds of years but that warming seems to have stalled lately, yet alarmists seem to be in denial about this.
In an earlier question today an alarmist asked for evidence of cooling. I wonder they if they might consider the satellite evidence (linked above) as evidence for warming. I am guessing since it isn't evidence for human-caused warming, it will be ignored and or brushed aside. Will they attack the site, someone on the site, or maybe Rush Limbaugh. Will they provide opposing satellite evidence or other evidence for that matter.
I am still not convinced the sea levels have been falling in the last 2 years but I haven't seen any credible contrary evidence.
I remember a year or two ago, alarmists used to give us periodic updates to world temperature and sea level readings. I wonder why they stopped?
BZ, I agree. Sea levels aren't easy to measure except by satellite. I seem to remember some exaggeration by using cherry picked places in the past, maybe it was Hong Kong.
I read an article that noted that Obama promised to lower the sea levels and heal the land. Well at least he kept one of his promises. Oops.
Gary, I did say that I remained skeptical. 20 years is pretty much meaningless to me so 2 years is really meaningless but it has been falling for a reason, possibly because of some recent cooling. I certainly wouldn't predict any trend, but apparently the alarmist who posted earlier wouldn't even accept any cooling period at all when in fact there have been minor cooling periods such as generally between 1940 and 1980 while CO2 just increased throughout.

They will probably use that single tide gauge in Hong Kong harbor like the IPCC did or simply reference computer models. They just had a major press release that claimed that 15 percent of the Greenland Ice cover had been lost in the last 12 years. I am sure that will make it to Gore's next film and radical alarmist sites like skeptical science and realclimate will state it as a fact and scientific. Trenberth will start looking for the missing water. His so call missing heat would expand the ocean but Trenberth, Hansen, Mann or any of the usual suspects certainly wouldn't let a little thing like an inconvenient truth get in the way of their agenda.

Jim, you know that length of record is BS - especially in a system containing multivariate cycles that have different frequency responses.

>>and no warming since 1998<<
2010 and 2005 are tied as the warmest year on record.
In a tie for third warmest are: 1998, 2002, 2003, 2006, 2007 and 2009.

1980 through1989 was the 3rd warmest decade on record.
1990 through 1999 was the 2nd warmest decade on record.
2000 through 2009 was the warmest decade on record.

Maybe you have some kind of arithmetic dyslexia that makes you reverse the value of large and small numbers.

Alarmists have completely given up on reality and chose to live by their make believe models which all somehow prove AGW. It has ceased to be science and is a religion for them now. A decrease in the rate of sea level rise and no warming since 1998 doesn't phase them one bit.
