What are some good tips when buying a used vehicle?

Looking at buying a used vehicle preferably a SUV or cross-over type vehicle with either 2 or 3 rows of seats. Trying to stay at vehicles under $10,000 to keep my payments low. So far everything I've looked at is around a 2003-2006 model year. I already know the warranty has expired but I don't buying a service plan. I just would like some tips on buying used so I don't end up paying too much for a car or getting a crappy car and I get a decent car at a decent price. My main question is how many miles is too much for a certain year?

Judging by your photo, you have kids. But if not and you're just a teen, i suggest an old k5 blazer. they're very cheap (you can buy an average restored one for like 3-4k) and used saved money for any problems you might have. Seriously, dont underestimate solid steel and roll cages, plus they have tons of room.

Your budget is the first thing that you should take into consideration before making a purchase decision. Choose to look at only those used cars that fall into your pre-estimated budget.what are the basic needs that you want your four-wheeler to fulfill for you. Decide on whether you want a family sedan that fits 4 to 5 easily, a sporty SUV to commute long distances or travel a lot, a small car that fits 4 and gives great mileage and is best for city-driving, and so on.With fluctuating fuel prices, mileage has become a key concern while making a car purchase decision. Visit various online car portals to find out what the estimated mileage of the type of cars you are looking at is.If the car has crossed three years, then don’t give a second thought on buying the car. Used cars that are older than 3 years will cause immense difficulties when you apply for car finance or car insurance, besides the car may not be certified.Check the car insurance papers and vehicle history report. These documents reveal details related to the corresponding car and its road history, such as if the car has been in any accidents or if it has seen any recurring technical faults. Also ensure that the car owner has the original Registration Certificate (RC). An original copy of the vehicle warranty and maintenance certificate is also an essential component that the seller should be able to show you while selling the car.Pay attention to the synchronization and smoothness of the steering wheel, brake pedals, clutch, and the gear shifts.Check if there is any kind of unwanted noises or vibrations coming from the car engine or other parts while driving the car at different speeds.Verify whether you get the promised mileage or not. Also check for efficiency of acceleration and deceleration.

I would highly recommend that you get the vehicle checked out, especially if you do not plan on buying a warranty. Take a local mechanic with you when you go to test drive the vehicle. The amount of miles that are on a vehicle depends on how the vehicle was maintained. If the vehicle was taken in for all its maintenance and on time, the amount of miles will not matter. Check out the Gm Certified Used Vehicles website. You can search vehicles in your local area by make/model, mileage, cost, etc. I hope that this helps. Happy Car shopping!

Have a mechanic check it out so you don't end up with a lemon that will end up costing you high dollars in unexpected repairs that an expired warranty or non-existing service plan won't cover.

interior the wintry climate time, do no longer idle excessively to heat up the motor vehicle. Idle the engine for 30 seconds and rigidity slowly. this is often the ultimate way and the quickest thank you to get the engine heat.
