Stop windows from booting removable drive?

i bought this new computer, and the first time i rebooted it, i got this error message that said "NTLDR not installed". i eventually found out that it was trying to boot itself from my terrabyte removeable hardrive (which, obviously, isnt possible)

how can i stop my computer from doing this?? its really annoying having to unplug my hardrive and pluging it back in when i want to reboot my computer

its an HP computer with Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit

thanks in advance

Change the boot order in the Bios.

you will have to go into the bios when the computer boots up, and change the boot order.

the removable drive should be after the hard drive, and the hard drive should be after the optical drive

    Example:

    1. CD/DVD drive

    2. Hard drive

    3. Removable Drive

    etc.

Go in to the bios and select a device to boot from. or, just unplug the removable drive.

Go to your BIOS and select HDD as the first boot. Also if the computer is new you might want to call

    HP tech support.

when your computer is starting press F12 when it tells you to and you will enter the boot menu. From this menu you will be able to tell your computer what device that it should boot from.
