easy gardening question!?
Well i live in Ohio and i just got married and recently just moved into my first home! i'm only 20 so i'm still young and never gardened before. But i'm a big time cook and health freak so i know that it would be healthier to grow my own food! plus it would be fun! What could i grow? i know i want to grow onions because my husband loves onions. What else would be easy to grow? (i'm planning on starting next spring)
Also, i know that you can grow seasonings inside like basil what else could i grow indoors food wise, thanks!!

What you can do now is to lay out your planting beds and start tilling and amending the soil.
You should contact your county extension agency to find out about testing your soil. Having your soil tested is the best way to ensure that your vegetables will grow well. If you have poor soil that has lots of clay you will be better off building raised beds and filling them with finished compost.
You can grow chives indoors over the winter along with cilantro, basil and more.

Why don't you go to some seed companies websites like gurneys. There are many others. They will send you catalogs. You can look through them and decide what you want to grow and order the seeds. The catalogs have great pictures and descriptions of the plants. It will include growing zones so you will know if the plants are suitable to your area. Get some seed catalogs and choose what you want.
