No vaccinations are required for travel to Japan, especially if you are from the UK, USA, or pretty much any developed nation in the world.

Note that you DO NOT need a vaccination for Japanese B Encephalitis, despite the name "Japanese" the disease is rare in Japan, it's in "name only".

There are no required vaccinations unless there is an outbreak in the region (not necessarily just in Japan). But it is usually a good idea to get your flu shot since fall is the beginning of flu season.

If you have not had a booster for such things as tetanus in over 10 years, it would be a good idea to get it not because of any particular dangers in Japan, but as a preventative measure incase you injure yourself and received an open wound or severe cut.

No, you don't need any vaccinations to go to Japan. Be careful when bringing personal medicine though, they can be very strict about certain things that you can buy over-the-counter here. I've heard that you can even get prison sentences for bringing in things like anti-histamines (I think they consider them on the same level as amphetamines there), although I think that would be a pretty extreme case (picture suitcase full of Benadryl!)

If you need to bring any personal medicines it might be a good idea to get a signed letter from your doctor explaining their purpose and why you need them.

Hi I live in Japan. I have never heard of vaccination necessity.

But I suggest you to buy masks if you visit Japan during winter.

If you stand on the station platform, you notice people are too close to you and if one person is coughing, you may catch cold or even flue.

I was wearing mask everyday last winter and avoided a big cold which I had every year caught otherwise. I will do so this year also.

You can buy cheap masks in 100 yen shop or any discount shop.

Call your embassy in Japan and ask. The guidelines can change at any time. Also note that when you get back to England, there are some places that won't allow you in if you've been outside the country recently, like petting zoos.

Note that your GP probably doesn't have that kind of info off the top of his head-- the best, most up-to date sources are government agencies that deal with international travel.

Really depends on the area and if you really feel the need for it

It is a always best to get a vaccination renewal anyway
