Girls being freaking confusing?
Alright, a I'll start off simple; my ex's friends hated my guts (no clue why, guess I have that personality) and ended up lying to her to get her to break up with me. well, needless to say, it worked, and she said I wasn't 'boyfriend material'. My personality is serious for the most part, but when I'm around her my better side comes out, not like I'm a complete jerk, more of a protective/serious nature. I got a little hot headed when she said that as a breakup line, which kind of sucked, anyways this is off topic, my question is; what the hell does not being 'boyfriend material' mean in the first place? Thanks for the help.

It could mean a plethora of things.
It could mean you don't pay enough attention to her.
It could mean you're not nice enough to her friends.
It could mean she doesn't think you are worth a long-term relationship.
It could just mean she's a douche.
But mostly, its just an easy out. Sort of like the whole "its not you, it me' line.
What it comes down to, is that for whatever reason, she doesn't find the two of you compatible.
This line was designed to either hurt the "dumped" party, or make them try to change themselves to accommodate a girls life. I'm sure you're perfect boyfriend material for some one though.

It means you offended her in some way
Are too different
Or are a total jerk to her
One girls opinion don't mean everyone is like that good for you she's not your type either then if she thinks she's so high and mighty
