I give food to my local soup kitchen. I do walks to raise money for causes. I participate in craft fairs and then donate 20 or more % to the cause. I feed and take care of stray cats..took a few in as well. I volunteer at my child's school library. I donate my used clothing, shoes and house hold items to organizations that help the less fortunate. Every single christmas each of my kids picks out a toy for a child that is living in poverty.
And what have YOU done lately??? YOU not the church you go to what have YOU done to help anyone?

I regularly help at the soup kitchen. I volunteer at an equine center that offers summer camps for at-risk teens from the Chicago area and gives them a chance to get out of that hell-hole they call a city. I work with students who have learning disabilities at the high school I graduated from. I volunteer my time and money to help care for starved and abused horses. I tutor ELL students from third world countries who have never had a chance for education until they got here in the US.
But I hardly see as to why religion matters at all. Being a good person and helping those around you has nothing to do with religious belief.

I donate to Unicef and several other charities. What do YOU do? For every dollar that your church actually donates to the less well off, how much do they receive in tax free donations? Put another way, every dollar I donate goes directly to the cause. Yours go to hiring church leaders, fancy buildings, etc. What percentage actually goes to the poor? Do you even know? Or care?
My donations require the recipients to do nothing. Most religious charities are a form of proselytizing, and require the recipients to listen to religious indoctrination. In my mind that is a crime.

i will't communicate for "maximum church homes" - yet one hundred% of our nicely worth selection is going in direction of "helping the less fortunate." we don't have a construction to maintain or paid group and our social activities are paid for out of our wallet, in many cases via the guy/relatives web hosting. however, till you have examined the books, you haven't any longer any concept how the money is being disbursed. i be attentive to what curiously like - and characteristic my own opinons with regard to the way maximum church homes function - yet even right here, seems could be decieving

It is not only Christian churches who do this. As a member of the Unitarian Universalist Association, I support their world-wide humanitarian efforts. Many people also give to places like American Red Cross, UNESCO and other such humanitarian but not religious organizations.

What the what?
So because some Christians do some charitable acts sometimes (even if we ignore all of the atrocities they have committed), that means they're above criticism?
You guys have a major persecution complex.

Many secular organisation do the same, without the additional burden of only giving to those they agree with, do not discriminate based on sexuality, sexual orientation adn do not have an agenda to convert anyone.
Ever heard of save the children, doctors without border and many other secular organisation run by humanists and atheists?

1.People give money to churches.
2.Churches give less money to charity than they were given.
What if those people in 1. simply gave their money to charity and bypassed 2. ?
I'm helping bypass 2. so charity money doesn't get taxed by your ignorance.

If we feel the desire to do something like this we do so without the need to do it in the name of a viewpoint regarding theism or the lack of, ty.

I give to charities, donate blood every time I'm able (I have a rare and much-needed blood type), do occasional volunteer work, and pay taxes.
