What makes a "Top Contributer"?

Yes I just got a TC badge today, in a category that I haven't answered a question in, in 5 weeks. i gave 26 answers. Less than 7% of my answers.

Man, I got no idea how the Yahoo Gods figure TCs. Weird !

It could be that Yahoo is trying to promote answers in that particular category. Maybe answering questions in a more obscure category like Credit, is more worthy of a TC badge. Its just strange.

Only yahoo staff know exactly what the secret requirements are for getting the badge.

What it basically is you give lots of answers in 1 - 3 categories you know the most about in a 3 week period and get some best answers and some Monday Morning you will have the badge.

It is not only based on best answer but total contributions, best answers help but are not a requirement.

It is all about contributing and does not make you an expert or mean your answers are better.

There aren't any Top Contributors in Polls and Surveys or Jokes and Riddles.

If you don't keep contributing in the category you have it in you

It's really no big deal. Yahoo has a secret complicated formula involving percentages and best answers to arrive at how someone receives the designation.As to what that percentage is there are lots of rumours but you can ignore them, in fact, only YA knows for sure and they aren't telling. One day you log in and surprise you are a TC.You can be a TC in up to 3 categories at a time. There is no TC badge for the Jokes & Riddles or Polls & Surveys categories.

The best way to earn it is to concentrate on answering in up to three categories where you might have some knowledge. if you don't keep your percentage up you can lose the designation.There are no special privileges. In reality having the designation can sometimes be a problem since there are trolls out there who constantly look for violations or perceived violations by TCs to report their posts.

Keep answering questions for 1 point and hope people give you best answer and even 10 extra points, but choose ones you have a real answer to. It really isn't a competition, nor does being a Top Contributor mean you spend all your time in one are or another. It may take time to reach that point. I spend most of my time answering computer issues because I fix computers and probably on have about a 19% rating for best answers, and that is not very high for some one who fixes computers. Many answers are based on opinions, hearsay and, peoples personal experience. I tend to go to some different area to answer guestions, but not successful at getting best answers. It really would be what your knowledge is.

i easily like #2, and #5. #3 is lovable. something are humorous too. i've got continually been against fords. you be attentive to Jesus is a Ford fan... He enjoyed to stroll. see what i advise? my husbands first motor vehicle became a ford. he ended up seeling it with the aid of fact it became ideling strange. and it tore up everytime we appeared to get added funds. i had to do an task in 10th grade and between the solutions became henry ford. as quickly as I replied the question out loud in college i reported ford with disgust in my voice, the instructor picked on me approximately it for something or the semester.
