How to diagnose a Mechanical Fuel pump?
I have a 1974 Volkswagen Karman Ghia. It cranks but it wont start. Where should I start? Carb?, It has a mechanical Fuel pump. If I our fuel on the carb it will start and then die. Any suggestions?

If you have spark at the plugs, and a reasonably clean air cleaner, it's likely to be a fuel problem.
You just need to run a fuel pressure test and possibly a fuel flow test to diagnose your fuel pump.
