I am about to be Mother of the Bride, but i hate having my photo took i always have my eyes closed or pulling some sort of face. Any tips would be greatly appreciated as i am losing sleep over it.

Ok, you can ask the photographer to make sure he sets the flash before taking the shot. Very easy to do. It prevents blinking.

Also, if you're worried about funny faces, consider this. A few old modelling tricks. If you suspect a camera is on the go, suck your cheeks in by opening your jaw a little and biting (gently) on to the lining of your mouth. Keep the lips closed, of course. This pronounces the cheekbones and the chin-line and also disciplines your profile. For poses, don't be afraid to raise your eyebrows a little. Not so much that a burrow appears on the forehead, but it really illuminates a smile. Beautiful smiles are sincere because of the eyes, not the lips...models called it "Smeyesing".

Finally, don't be afraid of the camera. At least, give the impression that you are not. Imagine it as a familiar person, not a Big Brother Episode.

Oh and if you can help it, avoid eating/drinking shots where possible. Do not be afraid to practice this in front of the mirror or a few sneaky snapshots on your mobile-phone camera when no-one's around. Be relaxed about it. The camera lies only if you treat it as hostile!

practise posing infront of the mirror and practise keeping your face in a position for around 30 seconds and blinking quickly to make sure you're looking perfect for as long as possible infront of the camera. also, try pushing your tongue behind your top front teeth to get the perfect smile. also, make sure you can hold your body position with a high head, shoulders back and strong stance for a long time :) good luck and congratulations on the wedding :)

Don't worry, a good photographer will make sure that won't happen.
