Can i have two routers connected by one ISP account?

here's the situation: there are two separate business operating out of one office and sharing one router and ISP, therefore both computers are on the same network.

both business will open an account with an auction site. in order to avoid having them think that the two business are the same users with multiple accounts, (since they are on the same network and same IPs) they are thinking an additional router would avoid this situation.

is this accurate? any thoughts/guidance?

thank you

If you only have one ISP account you only have ONE PUBLIC IP unless you have ordered more! It doesn't matter how many routers are used! Many times setting up a second router is done to isolate internal (LOCAL) traffic so that open file shares etc are not shared but that doesn't change what the "outside world" sees.

Auction sites usually setup user accounts and the username password combo is the factor, not the public IP that is used. They may block a particular public IP if that IP is identified as breaking policy or attempting illegal actions etc. Should that happen, your ISP will have to be involved to correct the problem.

The ISP assigns an IP address for every cable (account)

You can connect more routers, but these will have the same external IP adress.

Every computer will have different internal IP address yes, but the external will be the same.

You need call the company cable and ask if they can give you 2 different accounts.
