which blu-ray home theater entertainment system is better?

I am shopping for home theater system with following function: Internet content; blu-ray; 3D player optional; wireless rear speaker and sounds good for movie, tv and music listening too. Any brands and models to recommend? Thanks!

None, you should never buy a, "system" as in an HTiB. If any one component fails the whole thing goes to the landfill. Also, none of these are any good anyway and they are very limited in what you can connect to them.

The best way is to buy an AVR from Onkyo, Denon, etc, a separate Blu-Ray player and separate speakers. Don't buy the speakers from an electronics company like Sony, Pioneer, or Samsung. Buy the speakers from a speaker company... a real speaker company, meaning stay away from Bose.

Many AVR's have internet connection capability as do many Blu-Ray players. I would forget about the wireless rear speakers, there really are not any good options on this. Keep your main speakers and center speaker within the same brand and model line, the rear can be something else. Your subwoofer will also likely be a different brand from your main speakers. Not many companies do everything best so you go to the best option for each component. A complete system will typically be composed of at least three different manufacturers products.

Those home theater in a box are not very good in quality or reliability. They are not flexible for adding anything or for upgrading at a later date. When one item fails the whole system has to be replaced. They are designed for you to watch a movie with surround sound. Wireless speakers can be distorted by other electrical signal in your home. Most of them you will not be able to connect your tv to it and listen to the tv sound. Keep in mind that your tv will only have an optical audio output. It is a digital signal that has to be decoded by a receiver or a home theater in a box that has an optical audio input. The only system I would recommend is the Onkyo HT-S3400, it is a 5.1 receiver and a set of speakers. This system is capable of accepting any game console, DVD, Blu Ray disc player and connecting your tv to it. Add a Panasonic blu ray disc player model DB- 75 or 85, it is one of the best player in the market and recommend by home theater magazine. This whole system would cost you around $500. Demo the system at any Fry's Electronic and let your own ears be the judge. Hope this will help you out.

Never buy a home theater in a box system. Find a store that sell great speakers , and go give a listen with your own ears. That way,you listen to them and you easily choose what to get.

    Godluck !

I'd also stay away from the most popular brands. I found the "best" to give the worst customer service when it failed in less than 3 months. I will never, ever purchase a S........ brand again. It cost me $900 at the time.
