How to get my ex-girlfriend back?

I was with her for ten months. We were both each other's first boy/girlfriend, lost our virginity to each other, and shared amazing moments together. We're in a long-distance relationship now that she's in a college about three hours away.

It's only been a week and she breaks up with me last night saying things like:

"I want you to be happy with somebody else who you can see more often"

"I'm not sure if I love you anymore"

"I need some space"

I'm so hurt. I did not see this coming at all.

I know, it sounds like it's dead and over. But if she loved me before, she can love me again, right?

Please help! I really miss her and I don't wanna lose her.

We still remain friends, and we're really close, and I was planning on visiting her next week, and she said she'd still like it if I came.

unfortunately, alex, ex-girlfriends are called that for a reason. she is an ex -- she won't come back. she has also made that abundantly clear by the words that she used, especially the "i'm not sure if i love you any more". and the sex that you had only made it worse, because you probably developed feelings for her that were more than just the bulge in your jeans.

i also suspect that she has met someone else. long-distance relationships usually don't work.

sorry, alex, take her advice and look for someone else and cherish the memories. she will always be your first and no one can ever take that away from you.

I hope you don't get upset over this but there are a few reasons why she broke up with you:

    1) She's afraid because of the long distance you would've broken up with her

    2) She's in a whole new environment and just wants to explore this world and doesn't want to be worried about being tied down.

    3) She's afraid of the future.

If you guys are still good friends it means she still cares. I would suggest going to visit her but don't expect you'll get back together. Tell her you still love her and always will. Tell her you'll give her the space she needs and want to wait til she's ready so you guys can get back together. Just talk things out and maybe she'll tell you why she broke things off.

...She broke up with you. Give her space. Let her decide whether she wants to get back together or not. That week you visit may just change her mind, or yours.
