Could I be a middle or high school teacher?
I am finishing up a master's degree in computer science. I'm a teaching assistant this semester, and I am really enjoying it.
The only problem is that I am a little shy. I am not really nervous speaking in front of my students. In fact, I find it exciting and satisfying. But my teaching needs a lot work. I have trouble speaking clearly and projecting my voice, for example. But these things are improving with time and experience.
I would really like to teach middle school or high school math or science or even maybe ESL. I've been thinking about it ever since high school. Now that I've actually gotten the opportunity to teach semi-regularly and am really enjoying it, I am also worried that this is some kind of temporary infatuation. How do I make sure that teaching is something I want to make a career out of?

Going to education classes will help you overcome the parts about a teaching career that you're nervous about such as nervous speaking in front of children and learning about the field.
It's a GREAT field and the job demand is high and the benefits are amazing.
Definately check it out. Try to get the credits for education that you haven't gotten and use the credits that you might already have that would count to an education major.
An associate's degree will allow you to get a job as an ed tech, teacher's assistant, or substitute.

If you already finish college, you just get your
equivalent in Education. Go to the Registrar Office of your
college and ask how to go about it/ You should had have
declared a Major in Education specialization in Computer Science
That would have been a way to get a full certification as a teacher.
How to make sure if teaching is a career for you? You already are
teaching, so you say, therefore, this is the time to know if you are
going to be a good teacher, or just a mediocre one.
