A question about Zelda fans?

I feel like the Zelda fanbase is the most passionate fanbase of any video game series. Or maybe that's just me looking through a fog of my own bias. Discuss.

Mmm, yeah, you could say that. We're pretty loyal to the franchise, and we have faith in Nintendo to keep the series growing strong. But maybe that's because they've spoiled us with spectacular games for the past 25 years, the average rating for Zelda games being about 91. 44%.

I wouldn't say that we're the most passionate, though. That might or might not be a good thing -- we don't really have a large amount of fanboys who go "ZELDA IS THE BEST ANYONE WHO DOESNT AGREE WITH ME SHOULD DIE!!11!!!1!!!!" We're sorta, I don't know, calmer? The Zelda fans I hang out with look at things from a neutral standpoint and can point out both the good things and the bad things of each Zelda game they've played.

Even though we love Nintendo for spoiling us, there's one thing that bothers me... Whenever a new Zelda game comes out, we tend to pick at the tiniest details and complain about it. Skyward Sword, the upcoming Zelda game, features a canonically right-handed Link. This was apparently a problem because he's always been left-handed. Along with his slightly poofier pants, Zelda fans were annoyed and somewhat angry. But this was back at E3 2010 when it was first announced... I'm pretty sure we're out that phase.

So, yes, we're passionate about Zelda, but we're not THE most passionate fanbase out there. ;)

Nope, I disagree. I see COD fanboys almost all the time. Almost everyone's obbsessed with COD, they even make fun of others who don't play COD. There's also others like Battlefield, Minecraft, Kingdom Hearts, Final Fantasy, "Tales of", and more that are quite passionate, maybe even equally passionate as the Zelda fanbase.

Nope. JRPGs, especially that Disney-FF crossover series, has some pretty nuts fans. Plus Metroid fans are more ravenous, if you wanna look just within Nintendo's catalog. And I think fans of some of the modern FPS games like CS and Gears/Halo are crazy. Plus look at the Starcraft and Pokemon fans. They've put those franchises on a whole other level.

Personally, I think that Zelda fans have more dignity than ans for other things. It's less "OMFGEWGRWG I LUB IT ITS TEH BESTAS YEW HORE!!1!" and more, "Yea, it's a great game and my favorite, that's why I decided to dress up like this for this convention" type of feel to it. And It has more class than Mario fans.

But not al fans are crazy like that for somethings, anyways. Personally, I like Kingdom Hearts a bit more.

It's more passion than obsession and that's why I like it.

Atleast, that's how the people, I know who are fans, act like.

This just reminded me that I dreamt I was playing or was in Ocarina of Time but it was a HD version that had an overhaul and it looked amazing. Wish there was a way to record dreams lol
