How do women feel about this?

If the work regulations cause almost all the people there to not be able to wear their rings, why are you or are they concerned with being able to wear their rings at work? In a situation like this, people who want to know if a person is married, just need to ask them.

Most, if not all people, wouldn't want to modify their rings just because of the rules at work. Many people see their wedding rings as sacred and most were blessed by members of their place of worship prior to their marriage.

Not wearing your wedding ring isn't a licence to cheat and doesn't say you will. It's a symbolic piece of metal. True love and devotion to each other are in the heart.

I love rings, wedding and otherwise and have quite a few...But here's something to think about...My husband got into a chainsaw accident while we lived up at Tahoe. The fire dept. had to saw his ring off (thank god they did...) We'd only been married a few years and we kept the ring forever but with his many physical interests? I'M THE ONE who said he shouldn't wear the ring fulltime thereafter...I never wanted to revisit that experience...Now to me...

I had the fashionable nuggety-gold ring with a nice RAISED diamond...It scratched everything, snagged on everything (sigh). I took it off one day and set it on a counter and it was stolen. Actually a GOOD thing...When we went shopping for another? Due to MY LIFESTYLE as well (rugged outdoor interests, etc.) I opted for a gorgeous wide gold band that was a basket-weave bordered by small, INSET DIAMONDS as opposed to A LARGE RAISED one. Best thing I ever did...He died a few years ago and I've never taken it off...backpacked, sailed, hiked, you name it and the beauty being I don't have to worry about it!

Now, I think your idea is a GREAT one, but UNLESS the stone is bothersome for HER? I can't imagine her going for it. A redesign is often the best way to reutlize your diamonds in a safer way so they either don't cause damage, get loose and fall out, or simply become a nuisance 24/7 as you wear it.

Personally, I would never alter my wedding rings just to make them work appropriate. If I were in that situation I'd either find a job that didn't try to restrict my wearing my rings, or simply take them off while working.

The wedding band is what symbolizes marriage, not the engagement ring. So how about just wearing the band and leaving the engagement ring at home?

either take it off at work or wear a simple band. Jobs are too precious right now to give up for a silly reason like that.

i'd take off my ring during work and out it on as soon as i exit.

wear it to work, wear on a necklace or put it somewhere safe while working, wear it home. simple.
