Interesting ways to spice up Sloppy Joes?
My hubby is dying for sloppy joes, so I promised him I'd make them tonight. Anyone have any interesting ways to make them not your normal run of the mill sloppy joes?

Add onions, diced celery, shredded onion. Use that spice package from a taco kit and then add some salsa to moisten it.
What I like to do instead of Sloppy Joes is to cook a pound of extra lean ground beef, add taco seasoning and a quarter cup of salsa, then mix well. Open up a couple of packages of Jumbo Pillsbury Crescent Rolls. Shred some aged cheddar into each triangle, then add a couple of spoonfuls of the hot ground beef mixture, then roll up the crescent. Bake as directed on the package.
You can also use tuna salad as a filling as well as egg salad. When you cook them and cool them, they are great little appetizers. Don't use cheese with these.

I had a dollop of cole slaw on top of my joe once and it was AMAZING! Although, your husband would have to like cole slaw.
Try some mild banana peppers (from a jar) on the side.
