Who should I call about a building on County or State owned property?

There is a descent size building that my husband would like to move off of state or county owned property. The governmnet purchased the property to widen the rode. The owners of the home moved the house to another location but left the buildings. We were wondering who we could call to see if we could purchase and move the buildings. The buildings are located in Winston-Salem NC (Forsyth County).

You might would want to check with the county recorder's office to find out who actually own the property. Once you are aware of the owner call them to find out the possible disposition of the buildings.

There is a possibility that the city or county government purchased the land and the buildings are still owned by the former owner.

There are times when these type buildings might be extremely inexpensive.

Keep in mind that some buildings might be movable while others might not be. This would be based on the age and condition of the building. You might contact a house moving service to find out if this building is movable.

Make sure you ask all the questions of each one that would be involved in this potential transaction.

I hope this has been of some benefit to you, good luck.

The county or the state, depending on who owns the land.
