  • Anyone know of any campgrounds in NC that are great for cat fishing and waterfront?

Hi! My husband and I have a 32 or so foot camper. We would love to catfish while camping for our 10th anniversary this july, however I'm not sure what campground would be the best in North Carolina. We would love something on the lake, waterfront, so we could walk out of our camper and fish. Also it needs to have electric and water hook ups. Catfish is a must and we have already looked at Kerr lake and they have no waterfront spots left. We rather not go near the coast. Does anyone know of a good lake for camping and fishing we could look at?

  • Animal sounds and tracks?

My husband and son heard an awful sound outside last night after supper. It sounded like a mountain lion when you listen to the sound on the internet. But we have never had any mountain lion around here before (Winston Salem, NC). Anyway my husband is sure it was not a screech owl and he's pretty sure it wasn't a bobcat either. We went looking for tracks today and only found one type of track. It was in the shape of a V sorda, it does not look like deer tracks (which are common here). The track was about 2.5 inches long. So what sounds like a possible mountain lion with V shaped tracks? Thank you for your time!

  • How to kill tiny beetles or bugs in house?

Hi! My husband pulled up a toilette last week to change out our pipes (he plans to put it back in today). Anyway there are now these tiny little beetle looking bugs everywhere on the floor. I have not seen them fly and I'm not really sure they are even beetles. They are black and really small. They also have a hard exoskeleton. I tried to smash one with my fingers and it was really hard to kill it. Some of them are dead on the floor and I can vacuum those up, but some are still alive crawling around. What are they and what is a quick way to get rid of them?

  • How to get sticky off my floor from Pepsi?

Hi! I accidentally dropped a full can of Pepsi on my kitchen floor this morning. The can spewed, of course, sending Pepsi all over the floor, cabinets, chairs, etc.. I cleaned the mess of of furniture and things with a wet rag, but the floor is still sticky. I wiped the floor with towel then went over the floor with a Shark Steam Mop. It was still sticky so I sprayed a mixture of vinegar and water all over the floor and went back over it with a different mop. Now the floor is still sticky. What in world should I do to get this mess up off the my floors so that your shoes don't stick when you walk across it?

  • Could my son have an appendicitis or is probably just a stomach bug?

My son woke at 2 am vomiting, had a fever (100), and abdominal pain. I took him to the Dr and they palpated his belly. My son is four and he said it hurt worse when she pressed on the lower right quadrant. He finally stopped vomiting around lunch time after vomiting around 12 times today. He has had a fever almost all day (between 100 and 100.9) and has complained of belly pain off and on all day. The Dr. said that if he gets worse to call back and she would call back tomorrow if I never called them. So he never got worse but got better and now he is sleeping. He still has a fever though despite the Tylenol we have given him and he still says his belly hurts. Should I be worried about appendicitis still and if so what should I look for tonight? Do kids with appendicitis have belly pain on and off or is it constant and do they seem to quit vomiting and get to feeling a little better?

  • Which tip should I use first in cake decorating?

I am making a cat cake for my daughter's birthday party. The cat will be done in a grey star tip (to match our pet cat) and it will be outlined in pink also with pink ears, The bow around the cat's neck will be a light purple. I am wondering if I should outline the cat with pink first and do the bow and ears with solid colors then do the cat with the star tip last? Or should I star tip the cat first? Also shouldn't I do the sky part of the cake first since it will be the most "flat"?

    So I could:

Do the sky, then outline cat with pink and icing in ears with a rounded tip, then do the bow with rounded tip, then star the cat. Does that sound right?

  • Who should I call about a building on County or State owned property?

Who should I call about a building on County or State owned property?

There is a descent size building that my husband would like to move off of state or county owned property. The governmnet purchased the property to widen the rode. The owners of the home moved the house to another location but left the buildings. We were wondering who we could call to see if we could purchase and move the buildings. The buildings are located in Winston-Salem NC (Forsyth County).

  • Question about gum paste flowers?

I just made some gum paste roses and I was wondering when I could put them on the cake. Can I put them on before they are completely dry or do I have to wait? The cake is supposed to be delivered Sunday. This is the first time I have worked with gum paste, so I know very little about it. I just made the flowers and put them in a airtight container. Or should I leave them out? Also I used the Wilton Gum Paste Mix powder. Oh and should I freeze the leftover powder or is it okay on the shelf. Thanks in advance. I just asked this question, but I think it was under the wrong area.

  • Tips for first time camper with a 2 and 4 year old?

HI! My family and I are going camping for the first time next week. We are going to the Outer Banks to fish and play in the ocean. We have never been camping before and I was just wondering about some tips on different camping things. For example we have a 30 foot camper with no bunks. Our 4 year old will sleep on the futon and the 2 year old will be on the dining table that turns into a bed. How do you get them to go to sleep at night without playing all night? Should I put the 4 yo in our bed until asleep then move him to the futon (our bed area has a door to shut). He is a deep sleeper and my husband and I could sit outside together until they go to sleep. Oh, do the other campers get upset when a child is crying b/c they don't want to sleep? I don't want to keep up the other kids at the campground with my yelling child. My 2 year old gets upset sometimes when going to bed, but not every time. What are some common courtesy things to keep in mind for other campers? Also, are there a lot of partying and drinking at the campgrounds? Has anyone ever had a problem with alcohol or anything?

  • Is the Bible the Inspired Word of God?

During a question and answer session at a recent speaking engagement, a university student asked me, "Why do you believe that the Bible is the inspired word of God?" Now this is a very interesting question; and probably one of the most important questions any Christian could ask

themselves. What is so special, so unique about the Bible that Christians believe it is literally the inspired word of God?

In answering this student's question, I encouraged him to consider the following facts about the Bible:

First, the Bible is not just one single book. This is a more common misconception than many people realize, especially with people who do not come from a Judeo-Christian background. Rather than being a single book, the Bible is actually a collection of 66 books, which is called the canon of scriptures. These 66 books contain a variety of genres:

history, poetry, prophecy, wisdom, literature, letters, and apocalyptic just to name a few.

Second, these 66 books were written by 40 different authors. These authors came from a variety of backgrounds: shepherds, fishermen, doctors, kings, prophets, and others. And most of these authors never knew one another personally.

Third, these 66 books were written over a period of 1500 years. Yet again, this is another reminder that many of these authors never knew or collaborated with one another in writing these books.

Fourth, the 66 books of the Bible were written in 3 different languages. In the Bible we have books that were written in the ancient languages of Hebrew, Greek, and Aramaic; a reflection of the historical and cultural circumstances in which each of these books were written.

And finally, these 66 books were written on 3 different continents: Africa, Asia, and Europe . Once again, this is a testament to the varied historical and cultural circumstances of God's people.

Think about the above realities: 66 books, written by 40 different authors, over 1500 years, in 3 different languages, on 3 different continents. What's more, this collection of books shares a common storyline- the creation, fall, and redemption of God's people; a common theme- God's universal love for all of humanity; and a common message- salvation is available to all who repent of their sins and commit to following God with all of their heart, soul, mind and strength. In addition to sharing these commonalities, these 66 books contain no historical errors or contradictions. God's word truly is an amazing collection of writings!

After I had shared the above facts with this student, I offered him the following challenge: I said to him, "If you do not believe that the Bible is the inspired word of God, if you do not believe that the Bible is of a supernatural origin, then I challenge you to a test." I said to the student, "I challenge you to go to any library in the world, you can choose any library you like, and find 66 books which match the characteristics of the 66 books in the Bible. You must choose 66 books, written by 40 different authors, over 1500 years, in 3 different languages, written on 3 different continents. However, they must share a common storyline, a common theme, and a common message, with no historical errors or contradictions." I went on to say, "If you can produce such a collection of books, I will admit that the Bible is not the inspired word of God." The student's reply was almost instantaneous, he emphatically stated, "But that's impossible!"

"But that's impossible!" It truly is impossible, for any collection of human writings. However, the Bible passes this test. The Bible contains 66 books, written by 40 different authors, over 1500 years, in 3 different languages, on 3 different continents, with no historical errors or contradictions. The entire Bible, from Genesis to Revelation, bears the mark of Divine inspiration.

  • Can HCG levels decrease then rise again?

I had a positive pregnancy test at the Dr office then one week later I began bleeding vaginally with a lot of clots. I went to the ER and they said my HCG levels were 2000 and the ultrasound showed no sac. I think I was too early for a sac to be visible. Then I went to the Dr. 3 days later and my HCG levels dropped to 1450. Today I have gotten blood work done again. I don't know the results until the am, but I'm wondering if it is possible that it could increase this time. I have not dilated and actually stopped bleeding today. So can they increase again? I think I'm probably about 5 or 6 weeks now.
