Could my son have an appendicitis or is probably just a stomach bug?

My son woke at 2 am vomiting, had a fever (100), and abdominal pain. I took him to the Dr and they palpated his belly. My son is four and he said it hurt worse when she pressed on the lower right quadrant. He finally stopped vomiting around lunch time after vomiting around 12 times today. He has had a fever almost all day (between 100 and 100.9) and has complained of belly pain off and on all day. The Dr. said that if he gets worse to call back and she would call back tomorrow if I never called them. So he never got worse but got better and now he is sleeping. He still has a fever though despite the Tylenol we have given him and he still says his belly hurts. Should I be worried about appendicitis still and if so what should I look for tonight? Do kids with appendicitis have belly pain on and off or is it constant and do they seem to quit vomiting and get to feeling a little better?

    It's unlikely to be appendicitis.

Appendicitis, almost always has a very specific sign. When the abdomen on the lower right hand side is palpated there is no pain upon palpation. Then when the practitioner releases the pressure (lifts up) there is intense pain.

Gut ailments can be truly awful, but it would have to be a really pathetic practitioner to miss the specific palpation sign so it's probably a bug (virus).

If he has appendicitis and there is a sudden lack of pain, with a significant increase in temperature, that could be a significant warning sign (we're talking 102+) of a perforated appendix (it can be a tiny perforation which can cause internal infection of the peritoneum (where the intestines are held). Should you see a rapid increase in temperature that would be an indication to go to an ED.

Caveat: It is best to rely upon your medical practitioner for advice.

I might say it appears like a belly trojan horse. just a few early indicators of being pregnant that you'll seem for if you're not sure, delicate breasts are a biggy however you get them while you're due your interval, nausea usually begins round 6 weeks however each girl is one of a kind. Headaches can arise in being pregnant too, however fairly they may be able to be fallacious for only a belly trojan horse, and you'll leave out a interval if you're notably confused on the second or beneath alot of strain. If you're fairly not sure, pass on your medical professionals or take a being pregnant experiment 7 days after your interval was once due, take it within the morning for the quality outcome. take care sweety and dont fear an excessive amount of, it does simply sound like an unpleasant trojan horse, and there are really a couple of going circular on the second!

i think you should take him to the doctors again... just in case. Its much better to go and have it be nothing, then not go and have it be apendicitis
