rim size 1972 dodge dart swinger?
I have the car listed above and am unsure about how to find the correct rim for the car. I don't need the rims to be identical, I just need it to fit the car because I do not have a spare tire.
How do I go about finding the correct rim size? I've tried junk yards but often times they ask me the width of the rim. I know my tire size is 195 75 14
any advice on how to figure this out? thank you.

If you tell them the tire size that 195 is basically the width of the tire so the rim should fit that tire. does the car have stock rims on it? and are you going to put aftermarket rims and tires on too? then keep one of the rims or all of them and make a spare out of them all. This will solve the rim problem right there . good luck I love those old dodge and had several My charger was a great muscle car but at 3 to 5 miles to the gallon around town Iwould hate to own it now!

My recollection is that your dart may have the small bolt circle pattern - 5 bolts in a 4 inch circle (most cars of the day had 5 bolts in a 4 1/2 inch circle)
This means you will need a rim off an older dart/duster/demon/earlier barracuda (69 + earlier)
These are not likely to be found in salvage yards - mostly at swap meets
perhaps someone else can confirm?

I've had several of these cares. The wider rim, for the E70X14 tires as would be on a performance version, were 14 inches by 5.5 inches. I don't know what the non-performance wheel was - either 4.5 inches or 5.0 inches.
The lug bolt pattern is the smaller, I believe 4". For 1973, it went up a half inch, I believe to 4.5 inch.
Good luck with your search. I love those cars. Enjoy it!

I think you're right "roadrunner", my sister drove a slant six '74 Dart Swinger to college in the early '80's and our father wanted a pair of wheels for snow tires and asked me if I had any to loan. We tried some stock wheels from a '69 Charger and the 5 on 4 1/2 wouldn't fit, I did locate a pair from a friend and they fit.
I'm basing this on memory and hopefully I'm correct, I do remember there was a "wheel issue" and I think it was the bolt pattern.
