when did your baby begin to completely roll over?
My son was rolling completely over by 2 mos of age and was 7 wks premature, my daughter however, has only rolled over once and never done it again. She rolls on her sides all the time, but never rolls over. im just assuming its because she doesnt want to at this point lol. She has great head, neck, and back control and sits up with little assistance, but has no desire to roll over. Anyone else have a baby like this? shes 16wks.

No worries, My son rolled both ways at around 5 months. My daughter rolled tummy to back around 3 months old, so I figured she'd be rolling around pretty early. However, she could sit up if you put her in a sit, scoot, pull up, etc. at 9 months, but if you put her on her back, she would just lay there like a turtle flipped on its shell and refused to roll-I was so worried I mentioned it to the doctor and I think asked a q on here about it. Of course by 10 months or so she was rolling all over, sitting up by herself, etc.

My son will be seven months old on the 11th and was three weeks premature. He rolled from his tummy to his back at four months old and has refused to do it again. He rolls to his side like your daughter but just doesn't go all the way. He hates being on his tummy but I try to make sure he gets plenty of tummy time every day anyway. I brought this up at his six month well baby check up and his pediatrician wasn't concerned. A friend of mine who has a son that is a week and a half older than mine was just able to get her son to roll over from tummy to back a few weeks ago.

My son would roll from back to belly at 4 months but then it took him another 2 months to figure out how to roll from belly to back. That was a long 2 months too because he would roll on his belly and then get really mad because he couldn't figure out how to roll back over. Now he is 9 months and all over the place. Oh the joys of watching them grow up.

16 weeks is the average time that babies start rolling over, so the fact that your daughter isn't doing it yet isn't cause for concern. She's just taking her time. My daughter has been mostly early on her milestones, but on the rest of them she's been about average, so babies do things at their own rate. My friend's baby is really laid back and has done everything later than average, but she's a healthy baby. She just hasn't been in a hurry to do anything. :) My daughter started rolling from tummy to back at 8 weeks, and from back to tummy at 3 months.

My daughter hates tummy time so has never rolled from her tummy to her back but she rolled from her back to her tummy 4 days ago. I just took her to the doctor today and she said it's fine because every baby develops differently.

My son didn't really roll over until he was about 5 months. He was sitting and getting into a crawling position before he rolled regularly... I think as long as they meet other milestones, all is okay.

Your son was really early, but your daughter sounds just fine. My daughter sat 4 months late, but shes completely fine and is almost 2 now and advanced on the physical chart even. They do what they want Ive decided. Even she can talk but laughs and refuses, when I heard her before saying something clearly and correctly about what she was doing. Stubborn like her father...and mother.

every baby develops these things at different rates. my daughter was about 3 months when she started rolling completely.... lots and lots of tummy time will help with this.

My babies all rolled late. They were usually about nine months old before they rolled over.
