Has anyone out there actually seen the gold we supposedly have in Fort Knox, does it really still exist?
I just watched a History Channel program called Decoded, and the subject was Fort Knox's Gold. Noon e has seen the gold since 1974. It is tightly guarded, and the Federal Reserve refuses all requests for information or an audit. If it is gone, or owned by another country it would not affect our money, we have been off of the gold standard since Nixon. It would hurt the confidence people have in the honesty of the government.

No one has seen it and yes i believe it still exists. It's irrelevant in today's economy. It may lend some confidence to investors that we have large gold reserves.
“But it’s more symbolic than substantive.”
