best shape-shifter scenes?

I am a big fan of shape-shifter themes, werevolves et al. Unfortunately there have been many, but only a few good movies on this theme. So my question is which scene(s) do you think are the best filmed to show the transition of a human into an animal? A few good scenes that I can recall are :

An American Werewolf in London (1981)

The Company of Wolves (1984)

Cat People (1982)

There is in fact an Indian film Junoon (1992) which had a similar theme:

Update:

@ Emma - you are absolutely right, the whole transformation used to take place beind a table or sofa ;) I can see that you haven't commented on Cat People, so can I dare to assume you haven't watched it? If that is the case, i strongly recommend it...a decent horror/thriller.

    Hey Umar :)

You already have listed the best one ever - An American Werewolf in London :)

I love that scene! Given it was made in 1981, the special effects are incredible. And of course, up utnil then, most werewolf transformation scenes were done behind a sofa or table, the human would hide and then emerge as a wolf, but in John Landis' imagination...we see the entire thing. The way his hands and jaw elongate ...just incredible! Plus, Blue Moon by Sam Cooke is playing in the background....Sam Cooke is my favourite singer :) the movie contains 3 different versions of Blue Moon in total - bit of a trivia!

I used to have The Company of Wolves on VHS :)

Also, although it's not strictly an animal or anything, how about the 'spider head' scene in The Thing?! Talk about incredible special effects and it was totally terrifying!!

edit: Ah damn it you rumbled me! Haha :) no I haven't seen it, I guess I should really. I think sometimes it's easy to be lazy with old movies....but as you recommended it so highly I promise I'll give it a go. I'll add it to my lovefilm list :)

Not a movie but the tv show Fringe has a good theme of shape-shifting reptilians from another dimension.

feminism has misshaped the fashionable international (the international is deformed now) -define feminism: A equipment of ideals wherein women all people is inspired to be disdainful of adult adult males, carry "classic" woman gender roles in utter contempt (yet no longer male ones), and preserve privileges no longer accorded to the different intercourse. -historic communicate: Feminism is a 1970's flow, yet they attempt to take credit for the accomplishments of valuable women people who got here till now them (i.e. women people who succeeded on their very own advantage, without the "help" of feminism) (case in point, the girl's authentic to vote grow to be no longer gained by using feminists, yet by using women human beings suffragists. it extremely is a common false impression among the ignorant feminists that feminists achieved that) -impacts: we've bred a technology of spiteful, bitter, hateful witches who, fairly than attempting to make the international a greater perfect place for all people (adult adult males & women human beings, wealthy or undesirable, etc), sit down around complaining approximately imagined issues or minor inconveniences of little to no result, who shop putting unreasonable burdens on society. -it is substantial because of the fact lots of those public policies/rules adversely impact many women and men human beings.
