What do you think of the name Mackenzie?
Personally I hate it. It sounds like a masculine last name, I don't understand why anyone would name a little girl this. It seems to be growing in popularity though.
What about you?

Thank you! Ha ha. I hate it on girls. It's unattractive on girls. Mackenzie is a masculine surname. I can tolerate it on a male for the first name... but NOT for females! There's NOTHING feminine about it! There's a REASON names are categorized as masculine & feminine. You don't see boys name Lucy, Eleanor, Olivia and Rosalie running around do you? No? Didn't think so.

Mackenzie has always been a commonly used name where I live(Canada). Sure it's a masculine surname in Ireland.I don't understand why people(like yourself) seem to like making it a big issue out of a simple name choice. We live in the 21st century, things change, trends come and go, people have different tastes and style which everyone should be THANKFUL for or we'd all be named John and Susan and where paper bag clothing and all have the same job, how friggin boring would that be. Don't ridicule and criticize others for their personal taste and style, I bet you'd get upset if someone told you your style sucked or your taste in something was silly.
Not saying that you have said any of those things, but a question like this pretty much implies that on it's own.
Mackenzie is one of my personal favorites. Big deal, it's my taste. I'm sure you like things that I hate but I'm not going to go out of my way to make a question pointing out how much I hate it. Because I have better things to do.
Anyways, that's how I feel. I don't mean to be rude or defensive or anything I just understand why the need to make a question about it.
Good luck though, I'm expecting thumbs down but that's all good =P

I absolutely hate the name more than I can even explain.
It's on my hate list with Alexis. And they're names that just make me so frustrated.
I honestly don't like it on a girl or a boy. But definitely not a girl. That's just horrid.

I used to think "Mekenzie" was cute about 5 or 6 years ago, but the name is so unbelievably popular it's ridiculous. I'm not fond of it anymore.

Well, it is a last name... So that I correct. It's not my style, but I dont hate it. In my area, it's popularity is probably declining.

I agree with you! Its a terrible first name for either sex and a last name meant only for female cops.

Perfectly good surname.
You'd have to be beyond ignorant to think it was a suitable first name for a girl.

I assume you mean for a girl. I like it, but not spelled that way. Besides, it's been done to death now. And I always advocate for a gender-specific name when using a unisex name - - - something like McKenzie Celeste or McKenzie Rose.
