Are there any Fish Shows similar to Dog Shows around the Mid Atlantic States?

Yes, they do have fish shows. Some are specialty shows (I was at the American Livebearer Association show this spring in Cleveland!), and some are open to all types of fish (and other things you keep in an aquarium, including a class for "beautiful tank"). I've never entered anything, I just go to look so far, and to take part in the auctions that usually follow the shows.

The first thing you need to do is to find out about fish clubs near you. This might help.

Check their websites for info about shows. Maybe it's on their home page, maybe in a separate link, or listed in their newsletters. But if they (and usually even a nearby club) are having a show, it'll be mentioned somewhere.

The one I know about that's coming up is the Ohio Cichlid Association's show & auction Nov. 18-20. You can find the info on their home page under the listing for Extravaganza. http://www.ohiocichlid.com/ And there is a class for catfish, even though this is a cichlid club. Even if you don't show your fish right away, you can go and see the format of how things are done, to give you an idea of how to show your fish.

You only bet is to see if there are any catfish keeping clubs or groups in the area, only they would hold such shows. These things are few and far between these days though!

There are fish shows, but I'e never been to one or even heard of one in my area. You could potentially go to a fish club and get them to hos t a fish show, but it is no guarantee.
