2012 Subaru WRX release date?
So, here's the story. I just recently lost my 2006 STI in a flood and I'm looking to buy a white 5 door hatch WRX...I spoke with the local dealership and they can't find exactly what I'm looking for, so they're talking about ordering me one for 12...They're unsure of the release date as well as the MSRP.
Does anyone have the info on the release date of the WRX...I know the new Impreza comes out later this month, but not the WRX. I've checked all over online, can't find much.

I was on the same boat as you and needed to replace a car that was totaled. When looking I asked about a possible new body style and was told the were remaking the impreza for 2012 (think new body style). That said the dealers I talked to said both the STI and the WRX will not be getting and major design changes for the coming year. Reason being I'd the tsunami that happens in japan a while back really hit them hard.
What Subaru was doing was adding some STI flares to the 2011+ wrx models. As well as a stiffer suspension. Also know that because it's considered a rally car, they can only do so much to the engine. I even hear a rumor that the new release will have a little less horsepower then the current ones (note it's just a rumor so take it as that)
What I suggest is look for a new 2011 and when you find it don't hesitate. I searched for nearly 3 months to find one in Oregon at the time I was looking to buy. And twice had one sold 'out from under me', because they are/were so difficult to find. In the end I finally found one the next state over and drove half the day to get it.
When it comes to price gl haggleing as all the dealers were asking sticker for them and not interested in going down. After all this style is considered a "luxury".
As for an STI most dealers I chatted with seemed to have one or two on the lot. So a little easier to find

Go to Subaru.com and ask them directly. They always answer my questions.
